Welcome to the IKS Koloth!

"Honor isn't about making the right choices. It's about dealing with the consequences."

The IKS Koloth is one of the few sims today to be associated with the Destiny and Typhon Pact timelines! Take a look at the U.S.S Liberty Belle and Starbase Eridani for our sister sims!

The IKS Koloth is a Negh'var class Klingon warship partitioned by the Klingon Empire to show a Klingon presence within Federation territory. The Koloth's main stretch is along the Federation-Romulan-Gorn borders and it is tasked with seeking out threats from the ever increasing power of the Typhon Pact as part of the Khitomer Accords.

After a lengthy trial and subsequent 2-year incarceration, Captain Rheon has been reinstated as the commanding officer of the IKS Koloth. Seeking both new and old crewmembers, the Koloth is once again beginning its patrol.

This time, threats to the Khitomer Accords could prove ultimately successful as it seems more and more events are happening within the Klingon Empire to distance the Klingons from the Federation and the Accords altogether.

Civil unrest is occurring and has culminated in the withdrawal of several Klingon forces from Federation territory. It is the Koloth's job to investigate just what exactly is happening and why tensions are suddenly so very high between the Accords and the Klingon Empire.

» IDF Newsletter July

Posted on Sat Aug 25th, 2012 @ 10:30am by Commodore William Morgan in General News

Writers of Task Force Omega,

The leading members of the IDF Admiralty have put together and completed yet another new issue of the Independence Fleet Newsletter for July 2012, full of the usual bits and pieces.

Unlike last month, however, Omega was less successful in the awards department than it was last month (in which we did do splendidly), but we have nevertheless had an interesting time. For starters, we've had a good few newcomers.

Two awards were received by Omega players, including Captain Caleb Virgil (Chris) and Lieutenant Commander Brul Unger (Mau), who have been awarded the "Genesis Post" for the Liberty Belle's latest mission's introduction, "A Completed Sentence", and Lieutenant JG Lanazir Sevim (Hanh) for her continued commitment and contributions to the Omegaverse's timeline - namely the Andorian Schism.

If any of you have any questions or issues concerning Task Force Omega or Independence Fleet, feel free to contact me at (wmorgan@independencefleet.com) or Fleet Admiral Wheeler, at (admiralwheeler@independencefleet.com).

Warmest regards,

Commodore William Morgan
Task Force Omega Commanding Officer

» Task Force Omega

Posted on Wed Mar 21st, 2012 @ 9:11pm by Commodore William Morgan in General News

Greetings all,

This is the first news item I have posted officially as the Task Force Commanding Officer of Independence Fleet's Task Force Omega, which is dedicated to the timeline we use based on the Destiny/Typhon Pact series of novels, and I was hoping to sort out a few facts and issues, as well as make you all aware of what is going on with it all.

For starters, I shall do the obvious and list the three sims currently serving in what I have now named the "Omegaverse" (given our timeline will most certainly now diverge from any novels that are published henceforth). These sims are the USS Liberty Belle, Starbase Eridani and IKS Koloth, and each have their own assignments within Omega.

The Liberty Belle, a Century-class starship under the command of Captain Caleb Virgil (Chris - myself) is an inquisitor against internal threats to the Federation, primarily those posed by the Typhon Pact, as Omega is dedicated to the prevention of instability being spread by this hostile coalition. Starbase Eridani, under the command of Captain Mark Grayson II (Mau), is a Starfleet Intelligence installation, devoted to black ops and covert operations that would not normally be approved of, but these are dark times indeed, and it often takes a brave soul to do a bad thing for the right reasons. Finally, the IKS Koloth is captained by HoD/Captain Rheon (played by Allisen), and is a Klingon Negh'var battle cruiser with a shady history, and a show of friendship between the Federation and Klingon Empire, as the Koloth patrols its borders and works closely with Starfleet to unroot any threats from their conniving opponents.

Each of these take place in the Omegaverse, and each will be subject to the other's canon, such as the ongoing posts that chronicle the Andorian Schism and the USS Tiberius, the split in the Romulan Star Empire, and the troubling circumstances involving some high-ranking officials in many of the major interstellar states. It will therefore be likely that there will be joint missions in the future, as well as overlaps concerning our various characters. I would also encourage each of you to try and advertise Task Force Omega as much as you may dare, to try and fill out our vacancies.

I would also like to use this news item to declare that all e-mails concerning Independence Fleet or Task Force Omega matters be directed to "wmorgan@independencefleet.com", as this is the e-mail I would be using for official matters. Affairs concerning simply the Liberty Belle, feel free to use my usual e-mail address.

In-game, Commodore William Morgan will in fact be a playing character who will crop up from time to time and give assignments to the various crews, and play parts in some roles from his position on board the USS Falcon, and so never be afraid to start up a post with the charming chap whenever you see fit to do so.

I hope this finds you all well, and if there are any questions, please feel free to e-mail me and ask away.

I shall be doing my best to get around to any outstanding posts and housekeeping around the various sites, hoping to touch them up and make them all more of a similar nature, but please don't hold to me anything, as things are still very hectic.

Warm regards to you all,

Commodore William Morgan
Task Force Commanding Officer
